But you’re already ‘financially liable’ for other people’s health care, to some extent. Medicare and Medicaid, for example. And you’re ‘financially liable’ for a whole host of other things as well, from the schools your neighbours kids attend, even if you don’t have kids yourself, to the roads people drive on, even if you don’t have a car.

I don’t see how compounding a wrong makes it more right.

Does it make you more free to be compelled to be more financially liable for other peoples choices?

Do you think it makes sense for the wealthiest country in the world to have so many Americans without health insurance, or underinsured?

I think it makes sense for the wealthiest country in the world to let people make their own individual choices about the level of health insurance they can purchase of their own freewill from the limits of their own means. I do not believe that a nation that takes that choice away from the individual is making a wise choice.
