Not for many.
Let’s bear in mind that most johns are male.
Let’s also bear in mind that many STD’s will go undetected in females (including their wives or partners) and will eventually cause massive damage to the women’s reproductive systems. Not men’s.

Let us also bear in mind that HIV transmission rarely happens from woman - to - man, or woman- to- woman. Physiology again, not morality.

Men have almost no incentive, physiologically (not morally) to ‘come clean’— to tell their wives or partners what they’re up to, to take responsibility, to practice safe sex if they’re already the kind to visit prostitutes.
The justice system doesn’t make them come clean either— that is to say, it punishes the women (and men) who are prostitutes completely disproportinately to how it punishes the customers and pimps.
Taking away their cars is an excellent idea. But so is arresting them and informing their wives and partners what they’ve been doing, purely for health reasons so they can protect themselves.
