Be careful what you wish for. If putting the GOP back in control of Congress comes with the price of making Rand Paul, Sharron Angle, Michelle Bachmann, et al. the face of the “new GOP,” then you’ve got problems.

The return to power will be neither long nor effective. Remember: the new GOP Congress would be the same we had in 2006—minus the moderates, plus the teabaggers. Not a promising equation.
