Do you know of a left-turn experience?

I grew up in a Republican house, voted for Dole in my first presidential election because that’s what good Republicans did. Supported McCain in the 2000 primary and voted Libertarian in the general. Was a registered Republican until 2012 or so, but tended to vote Libertarian in the presidential general. Don’t think I had a straight ticket voting experience until Trump came along.

I always had pretty strong libertarian leaning, still do for the most part. The shift for me in the aughts was more about my priorities than my views on issues. Then the mortgage crisis shifted me a bit, in the sense that I came to recognize that the glibertarian view of “all government is bad government” and “all businesses are good business” was fairly fucked.
