The Swedes who came over then were economic refugees, like many other immigrants of the XIXth. Now, some of their descendants want to keep out darker-skinned people who are economic refugees, and political refugees, because darker skin.

Canada advertised for Finns to settle in Saskatchewan. Swedish housemaids were quite welcome in many American homes. Scandinavians generally have no experience of that sort of discrimination.
