You have to remember that soldiers are taught, from the moment that they handle a rifle, to aim for center mass. Same with cops and others in uniform trusted with firearms. If you pump half a magazine into the chest of a thing that, from all appearances, is human and it doesn’t fall down, then your mind is gonna freeze up.

Yeah, but the vast majority of line soldiers out there are late teen thru their 20s, who have grown up playing video games and watching monster movies. One of them is going to say “DUDE! ZOMBIES!”
