Let’s parse this apart. His parents didn’t honestly and openly address the issue for months. They covered it up. They didn’t seek professional help and guidance, instead going to the church where they gave him “counseling” for a couple of months and left it at that. And throughout the entirety of the show’s existence they’ve proclaimed their worldview superior to all others, even as they were covering up their son’s sexual abuse of family members and others.
