Economically speaking, the infrastructure is a big deal. If goods cannot be reliably brought to market because of failing roads and bridges —it will all fall apart, not just the bridges.

People forget that the Free Market cannot function without a solid infrastructure: both a physical infrastructure and a legal/regulatory infrastructure.

And we cannot trust the people who produce the goods to own or regulate the infrastructure if we want the market to function to everyone’s benefit.
