It’s fascinating to me since with the exception of my father’s mother’s side (Irish), I’m either Eastern European or German. My youngest brother has taken the position that Germany was really screwed and that helped create the environment that led to the rise of the Nazis.

Well, yes, but the Treaty of Versaille really did it.

The idea that Churchill et. al. had (and I guess most leaders at that time and before) that others can draw boundary lines and make decisions that affect millions is so wrong, but they did it.

And we are living with it.
