The man knows how to play to his audience. He is trying to look like the Sheik that is his middle name. The photo is him playing a role and it give the Islamists a much more favorable picture of him than the post-capture pic that was the only one previously available. All in all, I’d call that photo a win for KSM. Media organizations will probably start using that photo in place of the old one. While that is not unethical, it is a further minor victory for KSM as the photo shows him as he wants to be seen.
