The villain is not revealed until the last 10 minutes (clever) and Anna ends up saving herself instead of being resued by Sven (about time)

It was an over due and welcome departure from the princess in peril formula, and the themes of self realization apply to anybody (which is why the movie was an especially big hit with GLBT audiences)

I did not like Brave because I thought it was too terrifying for little kids.

I did not like Princess and the Frog because the workaholic heroine falls for a lazy moocher.
