Well, I hope you’re having a good one. My day sucked so far.

The first leg of my flight to the US and back next week was cancelled after Lufthansa Airlines announced they were suspending all flights to and from Israel for the next 3 weeks.
Since that flight was booked through United Airlines (which is handling the return flight), United “generously” offered to change the initial flight without any fees - but then made it clear that any alternative flight would cost at least an extra $179 per person.
The tickets originally cost $650 per person, and cancelling the flights altogether would cost $350 per person. Joy of joys.

And as if all that weren’t enough, I had a Lufthansa representative tell me something earlier that isn’t news anywhere yet, and that I haven’t been able to confirm elsewhere - that per new policy issued today, ALL TRAVELERS ORIGINATING FROM GERMANY, ITALY AND ISRAEL TO THE U.S. WILL BE QUARANTINED UPON ARRIVAL.

You’d think that last bit would be a major headline in the country..
