There’s not been much call for an Ebola vaccine, since it USED TO appear, kill a bunch of people, and burn itself out, and all in Africa. Nobody in the Developed World would pay for a vaccine against a disease like that, scary as it may be. So, no company would invest much money in research.

Now it has made its way to America, and people wonder why there isn’t a vaccine.

That’s why government funding of research is so important. There is a lot of research necessary that doesn’t lead directly to making money.
