The Maher thing is just for attention, and he did it in a mocking fashion which is clear enough.

Doesn’t matter. Conservatives will still claim:

a) Maher’s a liberal, and his attitude reflects all liberals.
b) Liberals are the real racists.
c) Conservatives are unfairly treated (they get fired - that’s already happening).
