3. it’s not even true. the oil company sells oil at prices related to the commodity market. they can’t just “jack up” the price. the consumer is better insulated here than in most other cases, IMO.

Well - if the commodity supply is short because of an incident, the price will go up. But you’re correct - there is some insulation there.
