OT complaint: all these stores in the tech press about how you can save massive bucks by ditching cable and going internet only? Bullshit.

At least around here with comcast and Verizon, we’ll save about $30 a month. Not worth it when you factor having to chase down stuff through other venues (iTunes, Hulu, etc.)

I’m saving half the cost of first tier, or basic, cable, internet and phone by cutting cable out. $70/mo. That’s what I pay for internet/phone. And I think that $70 is outrageous, since Charter sucks a big one—always going out in the middle of the night or when they “upgrade”, at least once a month. The only other option around here is satellite (which the landlord won’t allow) or AT&T (crappy).
