It looks like the former. They seem to seriously dislike sexism, but they don’t seem to see its existence in atheist circles as some sort of treason, and on that score they are correct. Sexists appear in some form in most human social orientation, many driven by ideology but others are just men who want to dominate and control women.

Way off base on that. It’s literally the other way around. Prominent atheist bloggers have been rallying against sexism for about a year or so now. They recognize it as a problem and are trying to get rid of it.
