Ten years ago I was an ass, and I was taken in by the Switftboat campaign - not as much as most right wing bloggers, but even though I had qualms I went along with the crowd, like the ass I was.

I’m not proud of that, and I regret it, but I sure as hell learned something from it — do not trust massive right wing smear campaigns. Ever. It’s the classic political mind-fuck, and there’s always more to the story than the fear-mongers want you to know.
