Guys the A-10 is screwed when it tries to fly low over modernish ground forces. The anti air environment is a total killer. Over Afghanistan ind Syria, fine. Fly that plane in support in airspace near modern anti air and it’s over very very fast. Seems missiles own that airspace in the modern v modern force.

That’s what Destruction of Enemy Air Defenses (DEAD)*-optimized F-16s and the EA-18G Growler are supposed to help with. And the Growler’s done a fine job in Syria.

*: DEAD is one of the few US military acronyms to be openly bloody-minded. I like it.
