The study authors urge this data to get injected into the legislative debate over the fate of trans people in this country, but you know it won’t. Even if the pro-trans legislators bring it up, it will be summarily dismissed with a handwave, “a single study proves nothing and we have hard data from the likes of Florida and Texas that supporting transgendered teenagers is harmful to their health.”

And “hard data” being “A bunch of Republican legislators say so”, so thus incontrovertible fact…..
