We’re seeing the actions of a party only holding on by its corruption of the entire political process. We have to break that. I just wish there were more people concerned about it. All these people around me that are so comfortable they want to keep the GOP in power.

The GOP have so successfully weaponized the assumption of good faith as to permanently poison the well. It takes the Dems twice as much effort to get treated as honest actors that gets instantly ruined because the GOP gets the benefit of the doubt every time, even after they prove that they’re mendacious fucks. It’s sisyphean to the point that I understand why so many might tune out. Less apathy, and more resignation that the system is hopelessly rigged.

And the media has done its best to actively enable that kind of assumption.
