At this point, I’m left wondering whether Putin knows how bad things are going and is just blowing smoke like any good patriotic war leader, or if he’s been in a Führerbunker this whole time and literally has no idea how bad his war effort is actually going.

Oh, I’m sure he knows exactly what’s going on: and I’m also sure he has been working on a Plan B all the while. Maybe a costly one, but since when has that stopped any Russian ruler from carrying out a plan of conquest.

And by a “costly Plan B”, I mean one crafted to be costly to Russia, but even more-costly to Ukraine. Unfortunately, likely in the sense of “If Russia can’t have Ukraine as a functioning country, no one can”
