If you think the Libs aren’t afraid of Palin, see any comment about her on Kos or DU. Everytime you see: whore, slut, stupid, should have gotten an abortion, etc., DRINK! If you get to the #10, call a cab.

I have to disagree with you— not about what you’re saying about DU or Kos, because that’s right— but on the general meme that “libs are afraid of Palin”. That isn’t so.

Here is Jonah Goldberg at the NRO— hardly a lib— on Palin today:

you’re still taking flak, but not because you strike fear in the hearts of Democrats. You’re taking flak because you’re striking fear in the hearts of Republicans. For Democrats, fairly or not, you’ve become a laughingstock. And for some of McCain’s campaign managers, you’ve become a convenient excuse for their failures.

But while McCain’s strategists do not cover themselves in glory for scapegoating you, you are not without blame either. You do seem to think the best advice is for you to stay just the way you are. Leaders listen to the advice they don’t necessarily want to hear.

I’d urge people who like Palin to read JG’s post; you’d find a lot to agree with in it.
