Why do they care about or attacking the person who recorded the Romney’s statements? Many conservatives defended the statements at the time, and since the election have continued to insist that PBO won only because of welfares and poors and voter fraud.

Part of it is a warning that anone who makes the GOP look bad will be made to look bad. They cannot afford another Prouty in 2016.
