And this is the perfect time to bring up this issue. I think people were amazed that a bill that no one had read, that no one knew what it contained, was voted on and passed. Whether you agreed with the outcome or not, I think the process left a lot of people thinking WTF?

Indeed- it’s a perfect opportunity to point out the very mechanism that allows for this sort of wanton spending. First, there is no fiscal accountability, and second, the tools such as baseline budgeting and forced spending cost us all money needlessly. Money that should either stay in our pocketbooks, or be spent on other items that need funding like perhaps an unexpected natural disaster or the like. If people understood how Washington spends, they might want to change it.
