There’s quite a few stories to tell, too, about central banks in those countries, and how nationalizing the banking systems in order to secure permanent refinancing schemes for political gains has completely poisoned some economies for a long time.

Funnily enough, a lot of the Paulbots that scream to “End the Fed” want to nationalize the Fed, because their biggest gripe with it is not that it is a central bank on a federal level (which would be inevitable anyhow) but that it is private (it’s actually semi-private, but enh, details don’t matter much for ideologues). Many Paulbots want full government control of central banking. A lot of them might not realize this, though.
