If Trump’s goal is to sabotage functioning government, he’s succeeding.
If his goal is to sabotage the economy, he’s succeeding.
If his goal is to undermine civil and voting rights, he’s succeeding.

This is what Trump and the GOP were doing. The wall is the the value signaling to his bigoted base, all while Trump is sabotaging functioning government and spewing nonsense.

The GOP aren’t interested in governing or legislating. They’re out to sabotage government and gut funding so they can redistribute the money to their billionaire benefactors. Russia has coopted them to further their goals. The GOP didn’t need convincing or payoffs either - they did it because they simply shared what they thought was a common goal.

Russia’s goal is to sufficiently weaken the US so Russia can do as it pleases around the world. China benefits tangentially as do all our other rivals and enemies.

Trump’s sheer dumbfuckery and incompetence only add to Russia’s luck in all this. They couldn’t have picked a better tool to undermine the American political system.

Trump’s desire to sabotage the current government system was obvious in the beginning from the people he appointed to specific lead positions. I suspect he’s an unintentional, if not full blown intentional, acolyte of Randian economics & may even share Bannon’s faith in and intentional initialization of the Fourth Turning philosophy.
