You read me right. Creationist votes concerning science shouldn’t count.

Science, like a court of law, has an objective value beyond the whims of an electorate. The voters aren’t, as a group, smart enough to judge objective facts. This isn’t their fault, and even smart people can make mistakes; but that is why some decisions, concerning the implications of law, are abstracted away from them.

You may be aware that the Founding Fathers were no fans of democracy; they preferred a feudal, or Roman Republican, model which pitted factions against one another. Right now our system is too democratic, and is failing to preserve our liberties.

I suppose you think courtrooms should be run as democracies too. When they nab a suspect, why wait for a deliberative verdict? He’s a bad guy with some priors. Get a rope! 67% of the town can’t all be wrong…
