There’s another difference that Totten doesn’t take into account. Iran doesn’t really have a navy to speak of that can actually project power beyond Iranian territorial waters. Turkey does - they have the means and the capabilities to give Israel all it can handle. Iran excels on asymmetrical warfare, but even here - Turkey’s Erdogan has trumped Iran at its own game.
