They are apparently reclassifying bump stocks as machine guns, making them functionally illegal under the National Firearms Act. The problem is enforcement. Those in possession would have to turn them in.

Without any teeth to enforcement, it’s an empty gesture. Maybe Trump thinks he can blame Democrats for enforcing the law.

That puts an onus on responsible facility operators to forbid their use. Fine with me, that’s gonna get added to the rules everywhere that disallows full auto. No help at all in the backwoods hold my beer crowd. Yikes.
