re: #339 Scorch

I don’t know if that article is completely truthful or not but after seeing BHOs actions and comments over the last year it seems very likely he would have done just that and claimed responsibility for it’s success and would have been ready to deny his participation if the rescue was a failure. Cannot stand people like him. Step up to the plate and be honest about it not this wishy washy crap he constantly pulls.

Noooo — he’d never do that……

/sarc off

Talking about liberal presidents, I have a friend whose brother was in an Army Ranger unit whose specialty was night-operations, back during Clinton’s Somali crisis (the real “Blackhawk Down” story). My friend said that his brother was really, really pissed at President Clinton, because his sister-team (the one that was decimated) was specifically ordered by Clinton, to go on their mission into Somalia DURING THE DAY. They repeatedly questioned his orders, stating that it would not be a difficult night op, but it would be a suicide mission if they went during daylight hours. Clinton specifically ordered them NOT to go at night (without saying why), and you know the rest of the story.

My friend said that his brother was really torn up over that, partly because he was one of the people who had to personally inform the families of the dead, that their spouses weren’t coming back. He was ordered not to tell the families why it had really happened.

If the timing had been different it would have been his team that went in, instead of the other one. If I remember correctly, he resigned his commission right after that. He just couldn’t follow Slick Willy.

Of course, Obama might be different.
