I’ve been monitoring various outlets for signs of a run on guns and ammunition. So far, nothing significant.
Btw, I wanted to thank DF for turning me on to wikiarms and its real time price and availability monitoring. What a great resource.

I’m also looking at Free Republic and some other RW outlets. A very significant minority on the right is extremely critical of the police and their tactics in Ferguson, even though it means siding with the “librul media” and black protesters. I think this is an important sub-text and a good indicator of just how widespread the opposition to heavy handed law enforcement really is.

It is against the law to point a weapon at someone except in the case of an imminent threat. Cops are not exempt. Protestors with their hands in the air do not qualify as such a threat. No wonder these fascists wear face masks.

I’ve seen enough, especially the attacks on the press. Nixon needs to sent in state police and national guard, push the local yokels out of town entirely and restore some semblance of the rule of law. If he won’t do that, President Obama needs to take the next step: Federal marshals and federal troops.

I don’t think Obama will do that, because of the politics. As this stands the Democrats can use this to mobilize black voters without a federal presence. But if Obama sends in feds, he risks mobilizing conservatives with lines such as “Obama won’t send troops to defend the border but he’ll send them to protect rioters!”
