re: #332 SteveMcGaziBolaGate

At my first real job at Arthur Treacher’s, the manager would always add up the day’s hours and multiply it by the minimum wage and expect that it would generally add up to about 10% of the day’s sales, give or take a little. A lot of businesses have different expectations of how much labor should comprise the cost of sales (or % of gross sales, either way its the same concept). This was in the early 80s. Since then productivity has increased tremendously, and I’m sure that 10% figure is far lower by now.
Shouldn’t the wingnuts ask themselves “Wouldn’t increased productivity merit a pay raise?” I guess that would involve something they lack.

Nope. They construe increased productivity as increased profits (for themselves due to their efficient management). And decreased productivity as having too many moochers who need to be laid off in order to be taught a lesson.
