The incessant complaining about how background checks are useless is very tiresome.
As is the condescending comment “you’re not a contract worker are you?” leveled at anyone who dares to disagree.
I’ve actually been through a federal background check, way back in the day when I went to work with Treasury/Commerce Department. It’s pretty damned thorough.
The background checks performed by the actual government are thorough. Unfortunately the ones performed by the agencies that sprung up in the late 1990s have proven to be pretty crappy.
