We don’t ask guy off the street to engage in medical procedures in a hospital OR. We don’t ask guy off street to argue before the Supreme Court. We don’t ask guy off street to run a multinational corporation with zero experience (apologies to Trading Places).

We should expect minimum competencies of those in elected office. Just enough people decided that a con artist with a record of destroying business ventures outside what he inherited as real estate should be elected to the highest office in the nation despite lacking basic understanding of anything relating to the office, its role, and responsibilities.

The consequences of these actions continues daily, and the media continues to magic balance fairy the shit out of things, because they prefer ratings and access to providing facts and information that people need. They too want to tell people a narrative, no matter what the facts say.
