Having a TV with a remote control was a big deal in the 70s. I was always envious of those who had one.

About 1976 I got a color TV with remote by shopping for the TV I wanted, getting a PT job at the Sears where it was (in addition to my FT gov job) for the Christmas season so I could earn the extra $ to pay for it and get a 15%employee discount. I was proud of that one.re: #349 stpaulbear

Somebody mentioned last night that a lot of the high school graduation ceremonies happen in that building. I bet that people in Dallas are just pleased as punch at Geller for holding a lightning rod event like this at the building a month before graduation.

I’m still trying to figure out why that venue would host such a thing. It’s nuts.
