Because Bernie is only leading two things: Jack and Shit. It doesn’t help that he’s effectively reached a Faustian deal with the VT DNC: Keep letting him run virtually unopposed so as not to split the blue vote and he promises to caucus with them in the Senate. Thus he gets to keep portraying himself as an “independent” and the DNC keeps the seat out of GOP hands.

I wonder what Pat Leahy thinks of Bernie off the record. The stuff I read from the Vermont NAACP about Bernie was another red flag but then again Bernie sees the NAACP, PP, and other groups like that as “the establishment.” In a way, I appreciate Bernie though for showing me that I can dislike someone who on paper I may have more agreement than I don’t. I’m a little disappointed though by how many in my demo think he’s the greatest thing in politics though.
