I mean, everybody will see through their lies, but that’s no different from anything else they do these days. Everybody knows that everything they say is a transparent dodge; but they do it anyway. I wonder if it’s so they can sleep at night despite knowing that they’re such horrible people.

I don’t think they’re sleeping well at night. They’re scared shitless, not only that they’ll lose power permanently, but that what they’ll be called to take responsibility for what they’ve been up to for the last half century or so…
