What the fuck. The word ‘tribe’ is English. You can’t discuss it’s use by non-English speakers, because they don’t use English.

This is not a difficult concept.

I’ll bet you dollars to donuts that members of tribes in non-english speaking areas still describe themselves as members of a “tribe” when speaking english. I’ve heard an african immigrant say he was from some tribe or another, and I’ve heard the same word used by an Iraqi individual who spoke at a meeting I attended in high school.

Just because the word itself is english doesn’t mean it is limited to people-in-america-only, or a concept that only english-speakers possess.

Even if what you were saying were true- and I don’t accept that it is, people here have already posted other common usages of the word tribe in the english language. Other people. As in not me.
