OK, I see from wiki it’s not pronounced in English as /kvikset/ either: “Don Quixote (/ˌdɒn kiːˈhoʊtiː/”. D’oh.

…but the ‘x’ is, inconsistantly, pronounced as ‘ks’ when the word is turned into the adjective “quixotic”
