re: #305 LGoPs

A little off topic but here in California people refer to freeways very formally. They call it The 405….or The 91. I still think that’s a little strange and think that the freeways have done nothing to earn that kind of respect.
The other thing I dislike here is how they refer to streets as surface streets. I always ask myself…are there any other kind. Are there like…..subsurface streets?

Or, conversely, we refer to them by name - The Golden State Freeway, The Pasadena Freeway, The Harbor Freeway, the Long Beach Freeway….etc. REALLY messes with the tourists!
