LOL, no, not ominous. I just don’t want to encourage conversation with some people.

That Banky link was posted, so I went to go look at at. I was thinking, “Oh, look how pretty they made the wall. Maybe that makes people feel a little better.” Then I got to the last slide, and the caption says:

It was just a bit of a wake-up call for me. A reminder that we don’t necessarily get it…how things work there, how people feel, how our good intentions might not be wanted or appreciated. I was a little taken aback.

I noticed that as well. Now, Banksy might just have been being a pain, or this particular man might be a well-known crank, but…I think there’s a sort of Western activist mind-set that people will be absolutely thrilled you’re there to help. And, especially when your help is largely symbolic, people aren’t always that impressed.
