CNN mentioned that during the speeches for the Olympic bid, the words “hope” and “change” were used…and (so the CNN reporter suggested) this may have worked back in 2008 during a campaign speech, “for a domestic audience”, but it may not have gone over so well in Denmark, 2009…(what I find somewhat troubling is this — as I believe I’ve mentioned before — I don’t think the kind of anti-Americanism as expressed during the Bush years was due solely to George Bush — it reflected something deeper going on in Europe — and I don’t think even an Obama can overcome it…)
