Prank or crime by activists at senator’s office? A better title might be, “Political Stunt and crime by activists at senator’s office.”

So instead of entering federal property under false pretenses intending to wiretap the building’s phones, they were entering federal property under false pretenses intending to vandalize them (disable the building’s phone system after gaining access to the telecommunications closet?). I doubt that really improves their legal circumstances.

Agreed.
Sadly, it does mean fewer charges (affadavit doesn’t list wiretapping) and also means that our pal Andrew Breitbart will be able to slither away as well.
