I just opened a jar of pears that Mom canned last summer. I think they are the most delicious thing I’ve tasted in a while. It’s a middle of winter thing. Like summer in a jar. I don’t can fruit myself, it’s a lot of work but savoring these right now I’m convinced it’s worth it. I’m sooo canning more this summer when things come in fresh. If I get bummed while doing it I’ll just imagine the pure joy I’m gonna have eating them in the dark cold of February.
