Surgical (or nonsurgical) abortion in the first trimester carries less risk to the health of the woman than carrying a pregnancy to term. That’s just a fact. Pregnancy and childbirth puts a hell of a strain on the body. Ask any woman who has gone through it, ask any doctor, or just look up the stats for deaths or complications (versus ones resulting from early trimester abortions).

Naturally, the wingnuts will take this fact — which is merely a neutral fact, devoid of moral or ethical content, and not entailing any moral or ethical judgments either— and use it to claim that people are ‘promoting’ abortion. They’ve been doing it for decades.
