re: #353 Amory Blaine

First time I quit, I lasted 3 years. Then I went to a BB King show. After the show I was walking downtown with my newly found future wife and ran into a tobacco store. The humidor beckoned me in and I bought the finest cigar in the place. Didn’t feel addicted. So began my spiral back into the shit. 6 months later I was sitting in my smoke fouled car, cigar butts bulging from the ashtray thinking to myself “holy shit I better go back to cigarettes these cigars are killing me!”. Smoked another 8 years. Finally smoke free for 8 years now, I’ll never touch another one.

I quit over a year ago without any problems. I was cig-free for 3 months. After my seizure in Tennessee and waking up 3 days later in the hospital, all I wanted was a cigarette. I had one and that was enough. When I got home my mother was there to help take care of me. She smokes and kept handing them to me. I’ve been smoking ever since.
