Good Morning all,

Just feeling a bit frustrated today. I’ve been living in Madison Wi since 1993. It’s a nice enough city in many ways but it’s going through some pretty major growing pains that are exacerbated by the financial problems of the last few years. The mayor, in his third time being elected is doing a Republican Drone impression and had decided Occupy Madison WILL be shutdown at the end of the month no matter what the city council says. Once upon a time he was a radical lefty so I think all the old hippies thought he still was when the voted him in. Oops! The local wingnuts are all crowing about how age=wisdom. :rolleyes: when they screamed hate all through the election.

Our house has been foreclosed - the sheriffs sale will be June 6, we have to be out on June 17 - and the rest of the neighborhood isn’t doing a whole lot better. Vacant houses and absent landlords.

Over the past three weeks, there have been 4 shooting incidents within a mile of our house. One known wounded & he was a bystander. But it’s enough to make me happy to be moving up to Hayward Wi in June. Feels a bit like we’re running away, but I want my son raised in a safer environment than we currently have here. My wife and I both grew up in a smaller town and we’re looking forward to living in one that’s smaller still. It’s a Blue county, unlike many rural areas, so at least we won’t feel totally out of sync.
