re: #356 Naso Tang

While it is understandable that Mein Kampf would have been banned after WWII, I am surprised to learn that it is still banned. Somehow I would have thought that they would have grown out of that 60+ years later and would have the courage to let people print it, just as one would wish that Muslims had enough self confidence and respect to shrug off cartoons.

Wilders wants to ban some books and Muslim will be sure to want to ban many more, and off we go to the races. Whatever Wilders set out to say, he seems to have garbled badly and now is just seen as someone foaming at the mouth.

He may have had courage to speak out when others did not, but he seems to have blown it by poor execution.

Where is Hirshi now that we need her?

FINALLY a reply I agree with!

I completely agree that Wilders has badly garbled his message and Ayaan Hirsi Ali delivered a far more powerful and effective message. Sadly, this is probably why she had to leave the country.

But while I think Wilders has garbled his message, I believe that at least in honor for the 24/7 security guards he has it is important to get out the full story of the man - namely, that he did call for 100% free speech, and as such, it appears his call to ban the Koran was indeed an arguendo argument.
