Usually there’s a little lever/bar that you can raise to shut off or start ice production, independent of unplugging the frig.

Yeah. That I know. I just took it out because we have a power outage and it made a big blob of ice in it. So, I’m wondering if the heating element died or if I’m not getting water or both.
